McCain should disavow endorsements

Here's a campaign tip for you, Senator McCain. If you want to gain any traction with Conservative Republicans, call a press conference and publicly turn away the endorsements from liberal rags such as the New York Times and Arizona Republic. Add pro-amnesty Senator Mel Martinez as well and you'd have a trifecta.

Newspapers such as the Times and Republic support amnesty for illegal immigrants, thus their support for Senator McCain doesn't raise any eyebrows. Last June he and Senator Kennedy (D-MA) worked feverishly to pass legislation that would have awarded amnesty to the estimated 20 million who have had to "lurk in the shadows" ever since breaking our laws.

Economic downturn? Think again...

And where's the GOP, explaining that the economy is just fine?
The Wall Street Journal has a great piece today by Brian Wesbury that shoots holes in this whole notion that the economy is in the dumper.

Check it out. It's a great read. And makes you think even more about this stimulus package making its way through Congress. Is it really necessary? To the politicians, yes. It's an election year! The problem is that none of the Republican candidates are explaining to the American people that everything is just fine. The Democrats and the media are touting the "package", saying it's needed. As always, the MSM is driving another myth rather than presenting the facts.

Thousands march and the media ignores it

anti-abortion march

So, if it's a bunch anti-American peaceniks protesting in Washington against our military, it gets wall to wall coverage. And, as Michelle Malkin explains, if your an illegal marching through our cities demanding citizenship, the alphabet media broadcasts it around the world. But if thousands protest the deplorable 35-year-old Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision, there is but a whisper.

The fascinating part of yesterday's march is that, according to reports, there were many young people at the march. Which is, of course, great news. We can only hope the message is getting through and many more young men and women are realizing that aborting a baby means taking a life.

Another interesting point to consider is those who oppose abortion came from parents that valued life. In other words, these are children whose lives parents decided to treasure rather than throw away. Is it possible that pro-choice advocates have fewer children, thus less opportunity to spread their beliefs to their offspring?

Candidates must uphold the America's rights

With the MSM in tow, Senator John McCain (R-Az) won South Carolina's GOP primary Saturday with a close victory over former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, 33 percent to 30 percent.

What's funny about it though is that McCain by no means attracted Republicans to the polls, with a mere 3 percentage point win over Huckabee. The majority was split between the two.

I was reading Jon's post over at GOP Bloggers and reaffirmed in my own mind why I just can't vote for McCain.

He has too easy a time trampling on our Constitutional rights, especially with his First Amendment-stifling McCain-Feingold legislation and his support for America's joining of the International Criminal Court.

McCain's national attention, of course, comes from the MSM. He's the most Dem-like so in their mind the most likable.

My hope as we get deeper into the primaries, the true Conservative voice will be heard and McCain will get kicked to the curb.

The right way to stimulate the economy

UPDATE: Weekly Jobless Claims Drop.
Just released today are new numbers regarding laid off workers and their applications for unemployment benefits. The news? The number of people applying dropped!

This from the Associated Press, "The Labor Department reported Thursday that claims for unemployment benefits totaled 301,000, down 21,000 from the previous week. It was the lowest level for weekly claims since late September."

Lowest since September! But, of course, in typical AP fashion, they find the analysts who expected the number of claims to rise this week. And the same analysts, even though proven wrong, still predict a weakening labor market. This is a little like global warming. Let's predict the future with little or no facts to back it up.

So, as I explain below, is this stimulus package needed?

Promising legislation to boost a sagging economy, Republican and Democratic leaders met today promising a stimulus package that they might actually agree on. The problem is, are they approaching it the right way?

Of course, Democrats want to extend unemployment benefits, boost food stamp payments and extend aid to state governments. All so very liberal-like. Pay more money out to keep those on welfare just where they are...under government control. No need to get motivated and put your nose to the grind stone. We'll take care of you!

McCain's GOP not Conservative

Like many Republicans, I am struggling to support any of the so-called "front runners." As a Reagan Republican, all I want is a candidate that supports those ideals. Strong military, cutting taxes, smaller government and stay the hell out of my business. Senator McCain's is not a Reagan Republican and his resurgence has me concerned on so many levels. The fact that the main stream media loves him doesn't help matters.

Yes, Senator McCain (R-Az) is a war hero. There is no disputing he showed great courage as a pilot during the Vietnam war and his unfortunate capture after being shot down. And he has been a strong supporter of our fight against terror, applauding our troops and the tremendous gains they have made in Iraq and Afghanistan.

But McCain's politics are just too far left leaning for me. Case in point, McCain supports the federal governments new CAFE standards, approved by the House of Representatives in December. The new standards will require vehicles to achieve 35 mpg by 2020. The government should not be forcing anything on me. If I want to buy a fuel efficient car, then I will.

Say Anything makes this point.

The Defects of Amnesty

Redstate has a great rundown of all that's bad with this shamnesty bill.

The Senate is currently debating the card-check bill. Senator Reid is bashing big, bad American business and it's rich executives. Hey, Ichabod! Remember, this is America! You make your own decisions on how you want to lead your life here. If you work hard you'll be successful. Another hypicritical eliteist lecturing us about how bad we are.

Procedural votes are scheduled for 11:50am eastern time. How is your Senator voting on cloture?

Your message, loud and clear!

Secure Borders Now

Don't let anyone tell you that what you think doesn't matter. It's clear from this map, now showing on Senator Inhofe's Secure Borders Now site, that we are making a difference.

But don't stop now. Vote on cloture is scheduled for Tuesday, June 26th. You must keep the pressure on your state's Senators to oppose this bill. A "Yes" vote for cloture is a "Yes" vote for amnesty. And the creation of the largest wefare state in the world!

Secure the borders now!

Secure Borders Now

UPDATE: Our message to open border politicians...
Like the majority of Americans, we believe our national security is most important. Allowing our borders to remain unguarded is a grave mistake. Providing amnesty to millions of law breakers does nothing to bolster our security. Secure our borders first. Once the American people see your actions and feel you are providing sufficiently for our safety, then we can talk about immigration reform. We oppose blanket amnesty and will strongly oppose any elected official that ignores our calls for national security.

Senator James Inhofe has launched a new petition site Secure Borders Now. Take a moment and sign the petition. And take the time to call your Congressman. The public outcry opposing this bill must continue.

Michelle Malkin has new information regarding the bill and links to your Senators.

Liberal attack on talk radio

Because of the public uprising opposing the shamnesty bill, talk among liberals is growing regarding the rebirth of some form of the Fairness Doctrine. Their reasoning is that talk radio is playing a role in derailing this horrible bill. And it is because the public can rely on talk radio for the truth and accurate information.

According to Senator James Inhofe, he overheard Senators Clinton and Boxer talking about the need for legislation to reign in talk radio.

You can't help but laugh. Liberals can't compete in our free market so they want to jam their ridiculous garbage down our throats through government control.

Sounds like one Venezuelan dictator.
